报告题目(英文)Material selection, manufacture, and characterization for a cryogenic application
报告内容简介:High field superconducting materials operated at cryogenic temperatures need strong nonsuperconducting components as reinforcement. For instance, cable-in-conduit-conductor technology for superconducting magnets needs strong conduit materials. High-temperature tape conductors require high-strength substrates. These technologies require consideration of special fabrication parameters for superconductor manufacturing. This presentation reviews some of our recent work on modified stainless steels and outlines some parameters of Ni alloys. Various fabrication conditions for superconducting materials are considered. Selected conditions are simulated with these alloys. Both mechanical properties and microstructure are reported. The application and potential applications of such materials in high field superconducting magnet applications are discussed.

报告人简介(中文):韩珂在美国国家高磁场实验室工作, 是材料特性与研发组负责人;高强材料项目组负责人, 主要研究高强度材料的微观组织、性能、相变, 加工及应用. 韩珂毕业于牛津大学,曾在北京科技大学, 美国Los Alamos国家实验室, 加拿大麦克马斯特大学材料科学与工程系, 荷兰代乐夫特科技大学材料科学系工作.发表SCI引用文章数量一百多篇。
