报告人简介(中文)：MICHAEL LYNN FREE, 1990年毕业于美国犹他大学冶金工程系，1992年获得美国犹他大学化学工程硕士学位，1994年获得美国犹他大学冶金工程博士学位。1994-1996年，分别在佛罗里达大学材料科学与工程系和化学工程系做博士后，现任美国犹他大学冶金工程系副主任。 主要从事湿法冶金、电化学以及腐蚀与防护等相关的研究。 主要学术贡献包括： （1）作为负责人主持了超过20多个国家的60余项项目，其中包括美国国防部、美国能源部、美国海军以及美国国家自然科学基金的项目 （2）发表200余篇学术出版物，包括学术专著《Hydrometallurgy》一部。 在40余个团体（包含企业和学术组织）中担任顾问。
报告人简介(英文)：Michael Free is a Professor of Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has performed research and taught courses as a faculty member since 1996. His areas of expertise and teaching include hydrometallurgy, electrometallurgy, corrosion, and materials synthesis. He has been the principal investigator of 65 research projects funded by more than 20 companies, the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Office of Naval Research, and the National Science Foundation. He has authored or co-authored 215 publications, including a textbook in hydrometallurgy. He has consulted for 40 organizations. He received a B. S. degree in metallurgical engineering, an M. S. degree in chemical engineering and a Ph. D. degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Utah. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Associate at the University of Florida in the Departments of Materials Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering for two years before becoming a faculty member at the University of Utah.
