报告内容简介:Solid-state battery is an attractive technology to replace the current lithium-ion counterpart to power potable electronics and electric vehicles, leading to higher energy density and better safety. However, several bottlenecks still exist before its commercialization. Among them, the poor ionic conductivity of solid electrolytes and the large impedance from electrode|electrolyte interfaces practically hinder the operation of a solid-state battery at room-temperature. We try to tackle these two problems via a combined computational and experimental approach. We computationally study the ion transport and the interfacial stability in solid-state batteries and use the understanding to guide the construction of a garnet-based solid-state battery functional at room temperature.

报告人简介(中文):Dr. Ziheng Lu earned his Ph.D. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2018 and joined the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences as an assistant research scientist afterwards. Before that, he studied at the Nanjing University of Science and Technology and obtained B.S. Dr. Lu’s research focuses on solid-state-ionics and its application in energy storage systems such as solid-state batteries. Currently, his research project covers computational assisted design of solid electrolytes, alkaline metal batteries, and integrated thin-film technology for micro and flexible batteries. He has published 20 journal articles including Advanced Energy Materials, Nano Energy, Energy Storage Materials, Chemistry of Materials, and Journal of Materials Chemistry A. His work on borophene for lithium storage is selected as an ESI highly cited paper.
