报告内容简介:Pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy and electrometallurgy are exciting fields with wide ranging applications from electronic devices on the nanoscale to bulk metal production on the millions of tons per year scale. Often, these three metallurgical processing methods are utilized in integrated processing methods to produce purified metal products. All of the metals we use are metallurgically processed using energy intensive methods that are often expensive. Thus, there is great interest in reducing energy consumption and costs. New innovations in pyrometallurgical, hydrometallurgical, and electrometallurgical processing have been developed to reduce energy and costs to produce metals such as titanium, copper, etc. This presentation will focus on specific new technologies that apply to titanium and copper production using innovations to facilitate reductions in energy consumption and cost。

报告人简介(中文):弗里.迈克尔博士是美国犹他大学冶金工程系教授,系副主任。主要从事电化学冶金和湿法冶金的研究,在高纯金属制备、光伏材料、电池技术、电极材料合成、界面现象和冶金过程模拟等方面开展工作。在相关领域发表学术论文160余篇,授权专利30余项;出版教材3部,其中一部为Hydrometallurgy Fundamentals and Applications。在冶金领域获得过很多奖项. 目前在犹他大学开设《湿法冶金》,《提取冶金》等课程。
报告人简介(英文):Professor, Dr. Michael L. Free,Metallurgical Engineering, University of Utah. His primary research areas include hydrometallurgy and electrometallurgy that are applied in electrodeposition of novel materials such as photovoltaic materials, electrorefining of metals, battery technology and electrode material synthesis, electrochemical process modeling, metal extraction, corrosion mitigation and modeling, particle processing, interfacial phenomena, and biooxidation/bioreduction. About 160 papers have published and about 30 patents have been granted.He teaches Extract Metallurgy and Hydrometallurgy now. Three textbooks were written by him, and one is Hydrometallurgy Fundamentals and Applications, published by John Wiley and Sons.
