报告内容简介:Hydrogen separation membranes offer a potential pathway for economical hydrogen purification. Among the separation membranes, dense metallic membranes are attractive due to their high hydrogen selectivity, ease of implementation and working temperature suitable for the water gas shift reactions in steam reforming of methane/natural gas. Dense metallic membranes fall into several groups; Pd and Pd alloys, Group IV-V alloys with b.c.c. crystal structure and multicomponent amorphous alloys. Commercial metallic membranes are normally based on Pd and Pd alloys which have f.c.c. crystal structure . The interest in Pd is due not only its high permeability but also due to its catalytic activity and its resistance to oxidation at elevated temperature.

报告人简介:Prof. Tayfur Ozturk, Middle East Technical University, Ankara has obtained his degrees; B.Sc in Istanbul Technical Univeristy and Ph.D from Cambridge University in 1978. His work concentrates on the processing methods that would yield nanostructured materials. This covers solid state processing; the classical milling as well as novel techniques such as direct synthesis of compounds via electroreduction of mixed oxides. Recent studies concentrate in gas-phase synthesis covering thin films for hydrogen separation as well as nanopowders produced via thermal plasma.
